Content above the fold = store front
Imagine you’re in a mall. how do you chose a store to go in and buy? I can guess you decide by what you see, right?
It’s the same thing with a website. If you feel it’s for you, you’ll stay. If it feels off, you’ll leave. That’s why look and feel is so important. You want people to feel they are in the right place.
The shorter the better
So, they decided to stay. Now what?
Looks are part of the equation but they need to know if you have what they need.
You might love a home style store and a jeans store, but you won’t go to the later if you want to buy coffee mugs.
Your ideal client wants to know how you help them and it needs to show in your home page, about page and sales page. For the home page, short and clear works best.
Invite them to stay
Always have a call to action. Tell them what to do next. It can be downloading your freebie, joining your group, scheduling a call, your choice.
This is simple but many people miss it. I know you won’t.
